Digitalization continues to play a massive role in Ghana’s economic advancement
Following the unveiling of its new 10MW data centre facility in Nigeria, Africa Data Centres (ADC), a pan-African technology group focused on building and improving digital infrastructure across Africa, has announced plans to build a 30MW data centre facility in Ghana. With an internet penetration rate of 53%, more than half of Ghana’s 31M population are internet users. It is no surprise the rising demand for digital services and broadband technology as more cloud operators seek solutions.
Digitalization continues to play a massive role in Ghana’s economic advancement as the ripple effect of more data centres is reflected in more job opportunities and increased productivity across the country. In 2021, Africa Data Centres secured over $260M to upgrade its Johannesburg-based data centres from 30MW to 100MW. The group currently has 9 data centres spread across 6 African countries.
